The Bingo Wings Project brings young and older communities together in a programme of workshops and events, focusing on arts, health and wellbeing, through a series of circus and bingo themed activities, workshops and events.
We are looking to work with older and younger people groups between May 6th – June 30th in Limerick, 2nd – 29th September in Kerry and 16th September – 12th October in Donegal. Our community facilitator will meet groups where they normally meet for a series of workshops. Each region will host a series of open days, where all the groups will be invited to come along and try some circus skills, partake in bingo themed activities, drink tea and get to know each other.
Fidget Feet will also premiere a new show, Bingo Wings, in The Lime Tree Theatre, September 13th and 14th, Siamsa Tíre, October 9th and An Grianán Theatre, October 18th and 19th, which will feature some of the community groups from each region.
The show is set in a Bingo Hall in 1950s Ireland and tells the story of a couple reuniting after 30 years, inspired by our Artistic Director Chantal McCormick’s memories of growing up in Bingo Halls with her granddad calling out the numbers.
The show has inspired the project, as we want to bring older and younger groups together to share their stories and memories and partake in activities together.
We are especially looking to work with a dance/jive groups and choirs.
